                    A Study of Achievement of Secondary School Students
                    In Relation To Their Study Habits In Rural and Urban
                                  Areas of Rewari District.

A B S T R A C T
 The research was done to study the achievement of secondary school students in relation to their study habit in rural and
 urban areas of rewari district of Haryana. The total sample for the study comprised 120 students from six different
 Government schools situated in Rewari district of haryana, adopting lottery system. The age group of 14 to 16years was
 taken as the sample and is distributed equally among boys and girls. In this present investigation The study habit inventory
 prepared by M.N. Palsane& Ravi Sandhu and Percentage (%) of marks obtained in middle Class in B.S.E.H. were used
 as tools. The obtained data were analyzed by mean, SD and t-test. Results revealed that significant difference was found
 between study habit and academic Achievement. No significant difference of academic achievement was found between
 rural and urban areas. No significant difference was found between achievement in boys and girls studying in 9th class
 of urban areas. Significant difference was found between academic achievement of boys and girls of urban areas. And there
 was significant difference of study habit of students studying in 9th class between rural and urban areas. There was significant
 difference of study habit of boys and girls studying in 9th class in rural areas. In last, there was no significant difference
 found of study habit of boys and girls studying in 9th class in urban areas. The study has been thrown light on the problem
 of study habit and low academic achievement of the students.
